Overview of Snippet Sets in Shopware

Snippets are a type of structured data that allows website owners to provide more information about their site and its content so that search engines can better comprehend, analyze, and show relevant information.

Snippet sets are extremely handy when you don’t want to modify anything about the standard set, such as if you want to utilize separate snippet sets in a sales channel with distinct URLs for England and Ireland.

You can look for the Snippet settings page in the Shopware 6 administration by going to Shopware 6 administration > Main menu > Settings > Shop > Snippets.

How to Create a New Snippet Set in Shopware?

Now in this section, we’ll show you how to create a new snippet set in Shopware in 2 steps.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Shop > Snippets

First of all, from your Shopware administration, you need to navigate to Settings > Shop > Snippets.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Shop > Snippets

Step 2: Create a new snippet set

There are 2 ways that you can try to create a new snippet set.

Method 1: Add snippet set

The button Add snippet set must be clicked in this procedure. Following that, Shopware 6 will display a form in which you must fill out the required information, including the name of your new snippet set and its base file.

Method 1: Add snippet set

Now you must finish the form. When you assign the base file, its snippets will be used as a fallback. The values from the base file will be utilized, it means that you don’t add the content to the snippet in the new set.

Once done, click Save to finish.

Method 2: Duplicate a snippet set

The second method is to duplicate a snippet set. You can choose an existing set and click on the Duplicate option in the context menu.

Method 2: Duplicate a snippet set

A new window will open, just simply click on Copy.

Method 2: Duplicate a snippet set

Then a duplicate set will be successfully generated with the same name as the parent set but with the addition of “copy” to the name. It’s BASE de-DE copy in our example.

You can now start changing the name in the overview. To do so, double-click on the line of the snippet set you to wish to edit the name of. Please note that clicking on the set’s name will take you to an overview of the included snippets, where the name cannot be edited. Please take a look at this image for more information:
