Configuring product custom options is a fantastic feature of Magento 2. Providing your customers with various choices for specific products means that you are serving your customers better and generating more revenues.
Your products will become more appealing when you add a new custom option text field, which indicates that the items are customizable.
By Magento default, it takes you tons of time to configure a product custom option one by one. This article aims to introduce you to a more effective method to enhance the admin’s performance by relying on Magento 2 Custom Product Options extension.
Custom options (or customizable options) is the most straightforward approach to offer customers a variety of product selections. You can create unlimited product variations without depending on attributes. You can also add any markup or markdown from the price of the base product.
Magento 2 supports different input types of custom options such as text, file, select, and date.
Text: This input type appears in the form of a text line or text box, where the customer can enter the required information. The field is a single line for text input. The area is multiple lines for text input. You can format text with the WYSIWYG editor or enter as HTML directly into the text box. You can manage maximum text length for both types.
File: This input type allows the customer to upload a file. You can set permissions for compatible file extensions like png, jpg, git, and maximum image size.
Select: This input type allows the customer to choose a single option or multiple options, depending on the input type used. There are various sub-types under this section, including: Drop-down Radio Buttons Checkbox Multiple Select
Date: This input type allows the customer to enter a date or time or choose the value from a calendar.
As mentioned above, a custom option text field is where the customer enters his or her customized requirements.
When you want to offer customization service for an item, for instance, selling a duffle bag that customers can print their names in monogram styles, you can easily add an input text to let your customers insert their names.
When a customer buys an item with a customizable option, any associated markup (or markdown) is applied to the initial price of the item automatically.
In the above example, the customers purchase a duffle bag for $34.00, plus a custom option for a monogram. An extra fee of $15.00 is applied to the initial product price, and the final price is shown as $49.00.
The simple product with customizable options is an ideal method to differentiate your products from other competitors. Offering custom options makes your items more flexible and proves that you care about your customers.
As a result, you can promote your products effectively and raise your revenue significantly.
If you are operating a Magento store, you properly know how to configure your product options. The process is quite simple. However, it may take you tons of time to add custom options to many products. Even when you use the import options function, you still have to open the product page by product page.
Adding the same options or importing these options to multiple products is extremely time-consuming. In addition, store admin can easily make mistakes when adding or importing one by one by hand.
Imagine that you are selling accessories, and you want to offer your customers an opportunity to personalize their items. If your website has thousands of products, then you will have to spend hours or days updating them. You need to add the custom options one by one, separately, manually, even though they are the same.
With Advanced Product Options extension, adding options is no longer a time-consuming task by leveraging on options templates. You can generate unlimited templates, then link them with any products available in your store. Store admin can now assign mass options to multiple items quickly and accurately. As all repeated actions are eliminated, admin performance at the backend becomes more effective and efficient.
By using the advanced tool, you are now flexible to mass-assign product options. After creating templates successfully, the admin can assign templates to store items by using either product ID or product SKU. The task is carried out right at the template edit page. Moreover, you can also apply templates from the Product Grid.
Custom options in Magento default are various, but they are still limited. Better Product Options supports adding more specifications for the customizable options.
Adding more information will make options more informative and more appealing to customers.
It is obvious that using a supported extension enhances both your backend experience and your frontend performance.
