Announcement: Finalized T&C of Product Subscriptions for Mageplaza Customers
Main announcement content regarding purchases made before Feb 01, 2022
In the previous announcement, we introduced to you a new payment change in the upcoming time: Product Subscriptions. In detail:
This change provides you with exclusive access to regular extension bug-fixes, version updates, new features, Magento compatibility, as well as prompt technical support. For more detailed information, please refer to our last post.
Today’s announcement will give you more information about new policies for old purchases made before February 01, 2022 and detailed case studies of how your fees will be calculated.
According to our finalized terms and conditions, Mageplaza customers whose orders were placed before Feb 01, 2022, will get 15% cashback, an extended extra 3-month free-update period, and the exclusive privilege of paying the lowest subscription fees FOREVER
All purchases before Feb 01, 2022 are entitled to these exclusive benefits:
Free updates in your 3-month grace period
Every customer who purchases Mageplaza extensions before Feb 01, 2022 will be granted 3 more months for free updates after the default 1-year free support. To orders that this 1-year free support already ends before Feb 01, 2022, this grace period is extended until May 01, 2022. This gives you extra time to prepare for this change in our update policies.
Within the grace period, Mageplaza customers will be able to use their credits to buy subscriptions with up to 30% discount. Credits will be granted to you no later than Dec 01, 2021.
Subscription fees to be 50% of initial purchase FOREVER
To all purchases before Feb 01, 2022, annual subscription fees will always be 50% of the initial purchases. This is the price for FOREVER. Extension subscriptions cover:
- Ultimate access to the latest extension code base
- Constant up-to-date versions and inter-product compatibilities;
- New feature updates within the product line;
- Full support guarantee during the subscription period.

You can choose to NOT pay subscriptions after 1 year or CANCEL your subscriptions ANYTIME based on your own wants any needs.

Also according to the new policies, all purchases before Feb 01, 2022 will get 15% “cashback” as credit. You can use this credit to pay for your next subscription in your grace period. In total, this discount is up to 30% and makes your next subscription even cheaper than the current support package (50% of extension price).
This is a good opportunity for all existing customers of Mageplaza to experience:

- Quick technical support: bug fixes, minor customizations, compatibilities,…
Customers can still customize and keep using extensions without paying subscriptions
When you purchase Mageplaza extensions, before or after the transition date (Feb 01, 2022), you have all rights to access the latest extension code base for one year. After that, this might expire or be extended according to your individual policy.
After your product subscription expires, you still reserve your rights to use the existing extension code base (which is released before the expiration or the cancelation) and can do any customization as you wish. However, be aware that you might lose all these customizations if you update the module again after.

Q: I am worried about the costs when I have purchased many extensions and now I have to pay more for the subscription. Are there any discounts?
Mageplaza offers all purchasers before Feb 01, 2022 15% cash-back as credit. You can use your credit to reduce the subscription fees within the grace period (the extra 3-month free update period). With your credit, your next subscription fee is only 35% of the initial purchase, even cheaper than the current support package fee. We hope you can take advantage of this opportunity.
Q: My default 1-year free update period already expires and I need updates and support, what should I do?
You can go to your dashboard to renew the support package to get 1-year technical support, or contact us for more guidance. This will also include free updates for your extension(s). Separate support package will stop being sold on our website as soon as product subscriptions are officially applied. All customers whose purchased support packages will still get their service until their packages expire.
Q: I haven’t received my credit yet. When am I supposed to receive this? When will it expire?
If you purchased our extensions before February 01, 2022, you will receive a 15% cashback as credit to spend for the next subscription. This cashback will be granted as credit to your account no later than Dec 31, 2021. If after this time, you don’t receive any credit yet, please contact [email protected] to seek assistance.
Your credit will expire when the extra 3-month free-update period ends, which is:
- 15 months after your purchase date if your order was placed on or after Feb 01, 2021
- May 01, 2022 if your order was placed before Feb 01, 2021
There will be a notice in your Dashboard that displays all of the credit information, including its expiration date. Hence, please rest assured that you can check the status of your credit easily.
Q: What are other terms and conditions of Mageplaza credit?
- Mageplaza credit is the 15% cashback of Mageplaza extensions only. The cashback is calculated based on the extension’s price after other discounts applied
- Mageplaza credit can’t be exchanged for cash or other discounts in any kind of form.
- Mageplaza credit can’t be transferred to any other account on Mageplaza.
- Mageplaza credit is for customers who purchased Mageplaza products on its website ONLY.
- Mageplaza credit can’t be used to purchase Mageplaza extensions, support packages, installation service but to pay for your next subscription ONLY.
- The credit used to purchase the next subscription cannot be over 15% of the initial purchase.
Q: This subscription only makes me pay more. I don’t see any other benefits. How can this help my business?
Actually, this subscription may help you get more and save more than you expect. Instead of wasting time and spending a fortune for bug fixing and compatibility support, which may cost a whole lot more than the subscription fee, now only a small fee is required for frequent updates and prompt support within the period.
Q: Can I only buy the subscription when I need updates or support?
You can cancel the subscription anytime, but in that case, you have to pay the renewal fee for the next payment.
