Email Notification for Gift Card

Along with the introduction high tech devices is the fast development of e-commerce enterprises. This practice pays the way for the outbreak of shopping online worldwide. Recently, there is a new trend changing the way people present gift for others, which is purchasing gift certificates. This is a kind of special product which allows owners to use the amount of money valid from the card to redeem when checking out to pay for other goods. Providing gift vouchers for online merchants to meet the demand from customers, Magento 2 Gift Card extension also offer Email Notification to ease management process for both admins and consumers.
Configuration in backend
When admins start configuring this function, they have to access Admin Panel > Store > Setting > Gift Card Configuration
. After that you can find Email Configuration section to make adjustments.
Firstly, admins have to turn on this function by choosing Yes
in option box of Enable Email Notification. Then, in Email Sender field, they can select sender information among five options provided which are General Contact, Sales Representative, Customer Support, Custom Email 1, and Custom Email 2. Regards email template sent to recipients, store admins cannot make any changes here.
After gift card is sent via email, customers can receive email notification about update status of this certificate if admins turn on this notification. To do so, they can enable by selecting Yes
in Gift Card Update Notification.
Besides, Mageplaza Gift Card extension also supports business doers to send reminders to customers when their cards are going to be expired soon.
Similar to other functions, admins also need to enable this notification by selecting Yes. After that, they have to decide how many days before expiration date the emails will be sent to card’s owners and fill in the field with a number.
Another reminder that Gift Card extension can send via emails is a confirmation email to customers when their certificates are sent successfully to recipients.
When the gift voucher is sent to the recipients but they have not used it for a period of time, shop admins can automatically send reminder to senders by enabling Gift Card Unused Notification. Shop owners can decide period of time to send emails by entering a number in After Used Day(s)
field.
Last but not least, store owners can help their customers update information about their cards’ status by turning on notification for balance update. To do so, admins can find Customer Balance Update Notification and select Yes in Enable field box.
Display on frontend
Only when store admins include Email
in delivery methods, can customers choose to receive their gift cards via email on the frontend. After completing all information required and setting date and time to send the gift voucher, all customer need to do is waiting to scheduled time to receive an email.
After processing, recipients will receive an email which includes sender name, gift code, and a link to see their gift in the website like following:
In case customers purchase gift vouchers for themselves, they are also enabled to receive an email about their certificates and print at home as below:
Once cards’ owners already get their gift vouchers, they can ask the store to send them a reminder about their cards’ status. To do so, buyers can access My Gift Card and mark Gift Card Update Notification and Update Balance Notification as chosen to receive emails about all your shopping activities instantly.
With the help from Email Notification, both customers and admins find it easier to manage their gift codes, orders, and purchases. Besides, sending gift vouchers via email, Mageplaza Gift Card extension also offers three other ways to deliver certificate bought such as text message, post office, and print at home.
