Announcement: New Policies for Stable, Improved & Integrated Extensions
As the Magento 2 ecosystem advances, from January 2026, certain Mageplaza extensions are upgraded or streamlined to deliver more value and long-term stability. To help you understand what this means for your store, we’ve outlined exactly what changes you’ll see, how your subscription is managed, and the support you can rely on moving forward.
Please note that these changes apply only to selected extensions. All other extensions will continue to operate as normal. If any of your extensions are affected, you will see a tooltip next to the corresponding license in your dashboard - please check there for details.
Stable (Fixed Feature) Extensions
In some cases, an extension enters a stable long-term state. You can continue using it normally, and support remains available, but the feature set stays as-is with no further development or compatibility updates.
What this means for you
- You can continue using your extension as usual.
Support you receive
- Free support continues until the Magento version you’re using reaches end-of-support from Adobe.
- We may assist with compatibility-related bugs as long as they don’t require significant structural changes.
- If customization or major third-party compatibility work is required, an additional fee may apply (we can provide a separate estimate).
- We do not provide updates for new Magento versions.
Updates
- No new features
- No compatibility updates
- No bug-fix releases
Subscription fee
- No further subscription fees required; you simply keep using your existing license.
Improved Extensions
In this case, an extension receives a boost in capability. By updating to the latest version, you instantly gain new or refined features that make the extension more powerful without changing how you use it.
What this means for you
If you already use the primary extension:
- Your subscription stays intact.
- When you download the latest version, you automatically gain the newly added features.
- If your subscription has expired, you can renew normally to access new features and updates.
Support you receive
You get full support, including:
- Assistance with the newly added features
- Guidance or help if any migration steps are needed
- Standard troubleshooting and bug fixing
Updates
- Full access to new features
- Regular compatibility updates
- Ongoing product improvements
Subscription fee
- Follows the current subscription policy.
Integrated Extensions
There are situations where an extension’s functionality is brought into a more complete solution. You’ll be able to switch to the enhanced version and access all your existing features within a more advanced, future-ready product.
What this means for you
If you’re using the older (integrated) extension:
- Your old extension’s license stays in your dashboard, and you’ll see a new license of the new extension after integration.
- You can download the latest version of the new extension that now contains your old features - applied only to extensions with an active subscription.
- If your subscription has expired, you can renew at the pricing of the new extension.
Support you receive
- Full support during your subscription period
- Help migrating to the new extension version
- Bug fixes related to merged features
Updates
You receive new updates only when upgrading to the newest version of the new extension, including:
- Added features
- Compatibility releases
- General improvements
Subscription fee
- Follows the existing subscription policy of the new extension.
This approach ensures that merchants are protected and supported even when we reorganize or consolidate our product lineup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Mageplaza integrating or stop adding new features to certain extensions?
Mageplaza is optimizing its extension ecosystem to ensure better long-term performance, stability, and value for merchants. Some extensions are being integrated into more complete solutions to eliminate overlap and deliver a stronger, unified feature set. Others are no longer receiving new features because they have reached a stable state or are being replaced by more modern and scalable functionality.
This approach allows us to focus development efforts on higher-quality updates, improved compatibility, and more powerful products that meet current Magento and Adobe Commerce standards.
Will my store stop working if my extensions are integrated or stay as-is?
No. Your current extension will continue working normally.
If it comes with a fixed feature set, you simply won’t receive new updates.
If it’s integrated into a new one, you can switch to the new extension version at your convenience and continue receiving improvements and compatibility updates.
Do I need to pay anything to switch from the integrated to the improved extension?
If your subscription is still active, you don’t need to pay anything - you can download the latest merged version immediately.
If your subscription has expired and you want to download the latest version, you need to renew at the new extension’s pricing.
How do I know if my extension is affected by this update?
You will receive an email notification, and you can also check your Dashboard Licenses and view the tooltip for more information.
What support will I receive for affected extensions?
- Stable (Fixed feature) extensions: free support until your current Magento version reaches Adobe end-of-support, with additional terms and conditions if there are huge structural changes or other customization requirements.
- Improved or integrated extensions: full support, including migration guidance and bug fixes for new features.
Do these changes apply to other Mageplaza current terms & conditions?
