How to activate the language pack
It’s time to activate the language pack for your Magento 2 store.
- Step 1: From Magento 2 admin panel, navigate to
Stores > Configuration > General > Locale Options - Step 2: Select
Portuguese (Portugal)and clickSave Configuration

How to Install Portuguese Language Pack
Method #1. Install via Composer
Install the Portuguese language pack via composer is really easier.
Install Portuguese pack:
composer require mageplaza/magento-2-portuguese-language-pack:dev-master mageplaza/module-smtp
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy pt_PT
php bin/magento indexer:reindex
php bin/magento cache:clean
php bin/magento cache:flush
You may get this message:
=> Go to Access Keys page and Create A New Access Key.
Update Portuguese pack:
composer update mageplaza/magento-2-portuguese-language-pack:dev-master
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy pt_PT
php bin/magento indexer:reindex
php bin/magento cache:clean
php bin/magento cache:flush
Method #2. Install via command line
Install the Portuguese language pack via command line.
Download the language file to your installation root directory. Now run the following command:
wget https://github.com/mageplaza/magento-2-portuguese-language-pack/raw/master/pt_PT.csv
php bin/magento i18n:pack -m replace pt_PT.csv pt_PT
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy pt_PT
php bin/magento cache:flush
As a result, a directory language pack will be created, which contains the proper structure of language files for your installation. Copy it over to your Magento installation and the translation should be visible.
Note: additional directory i18n contains strings for which the module could not be found in your installation. This file can be skipped.
